Fire Hydrant Systems goes National

After several years working as a sales representative, selling fire hydrants and boosters to plumbers, Murray Trapnell decided to go it alone and start up his own company. That was in July 2002 and he hasn't looked back since. "It was the best thing I've ever done," he declares. "It wasn't too much of a gamble, actually. I funded it myself and had paid it back within 12 months." Murray works from his home based business in Narre Warren but is found most days on the road in his own delivery vehicle as he does all the deliveries himself, mainly to plumbers on construction sites. "Plumbers," he says, "need to know they can get their products on time and by being able to control the delivery to our customers we can offer great service." "This hands-on control means the service is the number one priority of Fire Hydrant Systems." From the beginning we made a conscious decision to concentrate on the Hydrant / Booster sector of Commercial and Industrial Plumbing. To add to our ongoing success we have recently won the " 2006 Australian Achiever Award for Plumbing Service And Supplies" Until recently Murray also did all his own administration work but has decided to expand Fire Hydrant Systems and has brought on board Jacqui Carroll as the companies Business Development Manager. Together they have been working on the best way to expand Fire Hydrant Systems nationally and have developed a franchise system to suit this planned expansion. Murray and Jacqui are now in the final stage of setting up the franchising business.
