First Aid Services Volunteers

Would you like to become a valued member of a team that provides first aid services to our community? St John volunteers can be seen in their familiar black and white uniforms at community, sporting and public events ensuring injured patrons receive access to appropriate care. Volunteers have access to a range of benefits: Become an equal and responsible member of a team Experience the satisfaction of helping your community Meet friends with similar interests Gain practical experience in a multi-casualty environment Participate in first aid competitions Undergo officer training Gain valuable experience for health-related careers Be eligible for nationally recognised health and frontline management qualifications Receive service awards Adult volunteers are: Over 18 years old and have an interest in first aid Qualified in first aid Physically fit Willing to undertake ongoing training in first aid Eligible for a blue card (government regulation) Willing to commit 60 hours per year to first aid duties and attend regular training Cadet volunteers are: Aged between 8 and 18 years Want to learn valuable life skills including first aid Willing to participate in an active, fun-filled program that develops leadership skills Able to assist adults to provide first aid at events (once qualified)
