Approximately 30% of all vehicles registered in Australia are used for business purposes and fleet vehicles travel about three times the distance of the average private car with a greater rate of involvement in crashes than non-fleet vehicles. All this translates to a staggering 53% of all work-related fatalities involve a motor vehicle (SafeWork Australia 2010).Our principal consultant, Jim Pashalidis completed a research project on "The Best Practice in Fleet Safety in Australia", obtaining a Masters Degree for his work. The evaluation was on light vehicles (<4500 kg) ranging from the smallest fleet of less than 50 vehicles to the largest fleet of several thousand vehicles.
