Tourist Information, Tourists
Established in the late 1870’s or early 1880’s the winery has operated continuously since its establishment, making it one of the oldest wineries in the state, with many historic artefacts on site relating to the wine industry over the past decades.
In pristine condition, the winery has been in the Wood family since 1919, and is built of brick and stone. The building, consisting of two and three stories still contains a large number of the original 470 and 770 gallon casks.
The first vine pruning competition in the region took place among the vines at Coorinja, and the winery is now the only surviving example of an industry that was once a prosperous enterprise in the Avon Valley.
Coorinja produces a large selection of both table and dessert wines and is famous for its Port and Ginger Wine, great gift ideas for the connoisseur. Relax in the picturesque setting of the historic winery and sample the many vintages on offer, a great way to enjoy an afternoon in the beautiful Avon Valley.
Open Monday to Saturday from 10 to 5, enjoy a scenic drive and immerse yourself in the history that is Coorinja Winery
