True loyalty drives customers back to the merchant where the loyalty was earned to receive more loyalty or redeem the loyalty at the merchant who provided and paid for it. Lightstorm’s loyalty software supports this process and gives merchants the ability to provide loyalty, redeem loyalty and market to the loyalty program members. Merchants can choose the amount of loyalty that their customers can earn. Merchants can deliver the loyalty through their POS, online, different card types or all of the above, the choice is theirs. Merchants can choose to have the Loyalty software provided via an API for a full and more customizable product if they have sufficient IT staff and skills or they can have a hosted product delivered that has very little IT requirement on the merchants behalf. There are many loyalty provider type companies the world over. They all typically offer very similar type products that give discounts to customers. These products are delivered in a variety of mediums such as cardboard cards, plastic cards with magnetic stripes or barcodes, online and mobile app’s. Most offer the customer to earn reward points from merchants that they can redeem against offerings from other merchants for cheap fuel, flights or other luxury type products. These type of programs have been in place for a long time and do very little to encourage loyalty to the merchant who provided and paid for the points as they are redeemed elsewhere.
