Help make a difference to the families of WA’s deceased military veterans by taking part in Legs 4 Legacy – a new fun new event for all the family.
Legacy in WA are hoping for hundreds of walkers to participate in this new charity walk, following a 5km course starting and finishing at Whitfords Nodes on Sunday 4 September 2011.
With registration at just $10 per person, or $20 per family, organisers hope Legs 4 Legacy will make a real contribution to the lives of those left behind when a military veteran passes on. Legacy in WA currently cares for over 6,000 widows and around 50 children under 18 who have lost a parent on active service, in training, or subsequently.
Face painting, a sausage sizzle and the WA Police Pipe Band will all make the event one to remember. Full details, including a registration form, are available in the Legs 4 Legacy leaflet available in libraries and other public places throughout Perth’s northern suburbs. Alternatively you can call Legacy on (08) 9486 4900 to obtain a copy.
Every walker will receive a Certificate and a Medal at the completion of the walk. The intention is that young children will be encouraged to present their medal to their father/grandfather as a present for Father’s Day.
Since 1928, Legacy in WA has cared for the families of those left behind when a veteran passes on. Torchbearers for Legacy in WA are organising the event on behalf of Legacy in WA, which delivers much-needed care and welfare to the families of WA’s deceased veterans. You can help make a real difference to their lives by taking part in Legs 4 Legacy on Sunday 4 September.
See you there!
