Colours of our Country A Pilbara storybook   Rio Tinto is proud to present the sixth annual Colours of our Country Aboriginal art exhibition, showcasing work by artists from Western Australia’s Pilbara region.   Presenting a collection of more than 200 artworks from 44 Pilbara based artists; the exhibition explores each artist’s individual life experiences, while telling a range of ancestral stories significant to the region and its diverse people.   Rio Tinto is a proud supporter of local arts and culture in Western Australia.  Colours of our Country is one example of this.  The Perth based exhibition provides an opportunity for Pilbara Aboriginal artists to showcase their work more broadly, increase their profile and build local arts enterprises.   Since 2006, the exhibitions have resulted in sales of 719 artworks, generating more than $1 million for the artists, their art groups and their communities.   We encourage lovers of art and our spectacular Pilbara landscape to view the exquisite collection on display and support this much anticipated event.   Exhibition details:   19 – 30 September 2011 10am to 4pm daily Central Park building foyer 152 – 158 St Georges Terrace, Perth   For more information, and to view the exhibition catalogue, please visit:   www.ciwa.riotinto.com/coloursofourcountry
