EAP is a professional employee support service providing paid off-site confidential counselling services to employees and their immediate family members. It aims to assist individuals who may be facing personal difficulties, which could be, for example, work related, health, family, financial, or emotional concerns. The EAP is intended to provide short-term assistance to eligible users offering STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL services by an independent, external organisation. Appointments are held away from the immediate workplace environment thus providing an independent service. Previous research has shown that EAP counselling client satisfaction is generally around 96% (Phillips, 2004; Attridge, 2003) and measured improvements in employee absenteeism, productivity and identified a positive impact on workers compensation costs (Kirk, 2006; McLeod & McLeod, 2001).
