Rusting Steel Lintels - Some simple maintenance may save you many $$$ in the future ... from Inspect My Home Perth North

During our inspections, we often see rusting or corroding steel lintels supporting brickwork over windows and doorways. If treated early these steel lintels will survive years of service but left untreated, further deterioration over time can cause significant structural damage and cracking to the surrounding brickwork. If our inspector identifies this issue when carrying out a pre-purchase inspection on your behalf, it would be advisable to add this to your maintenance list to address once you move into the home. It is not a complex job for the right tradesman and may save you a great deal of expense in the future.
