Towerlight is the manufacturer of the world’s largest range of lighting towers and were recently in Australia visiting PR Power who is the Authorised Australian Distributor for Towerlight mobile lighting towers.
Towerlight’s Export – UK/Australia Sales Manager Matteo Tagliani said ”Towerlight has developed a new sustainable lighting tower technology which has taken the European market by storm. As a result we are launching the same technology into the Australian market through our distributor PR Power, who has grown our product in this region substantially in the last 6 years assisting us in developing our first Mining Specific lighting tower range and modifying some of our other models for use in the Australian market.”
Ray Caulfield Towerlight UK/Middle East/India Sales Manager added “Our close relationship with PR Power has been instrumental in manufacturing lighting towers specifically for the Australian market, which many other manufacturers currently servicing this region have failed to do.”
The new sustainable lighting tower technology incorporates both LED and hybrid technology for use on the PR-ECO and PR-Hybrid-LED mobile lighting tower models. The PR-Eco lighting tower is still being trialled in Australia before a full release expected later in the year, whilst the PR-Hybrid-LED is available for immediate use.
The PR-Eco Lighting Tower has been developed to produce full power light coverage, significant fuel savings, environmental benefits and incorporate a battery powered option into the unit. The PR-Eco Lighting Tower has created a reduction in fuel costs of up to 72% along with a 72% carbon emissions reduction, a 25% reduction in transport costs and has improved its operating time by up to 435%.
These significant improvements have made the PR-ECO an impressive lighting tower option for customers seeking environmental and cost savings.
The PR-Hybrid LED model utilises modern LED lighting with advanced battery power systems to produce the world’s first hybrid lighting tower. The unit runs on 90% battery power and 10% diesel fuel, generating approximately 4000 hours of operating life and can run for over 500 hours on a single tank at 0.5 litres per hour.
These impressive features add up to $780 per month per lighting tower in fuel savings compared with conventional lighting towers.
From an environmental point of view the PR-Hybrid-LED generates zero noise and carbon emissions when operating on battery power saving the operator 86% in CO2 reductions compared with conventional lighting towers. Battery charging time utilising the diesel engine is minimal keeping fuel costs and CO2 emissions at low levels.
In addition to the sustainable lighting tower range Towerlight also discussed the new mine series lighting towers developed in conjunction with PR Power for the Australian market. The PR6000 and PR8000-FH mine spec lighting towers produce super bight light output up to 24,500 square metres utilising Australian approved mine site designs on both units.
The PR8000-FH Mine Spec unit is a proven mining lighting tower success, operating on major mine sites such as Rio Tinto, BHP and FMG.
The PR6000 is a newly developed mine spec lighting tower boasting four 1500w metal halide lamps and producing up to 520,000 lumens of light output. It comes standard with a mine spec trailer with an optional road ready trailer depending on requirements.
Richard Italiano, PR Power Operations Manager said “As a less expensive mine site lighting option to the popular PR8000-FH Mine Spec Lighting Tower, the PR6000 is ideal for price sensitive mining projects where the high spec PR8000-FH offering are not required, but a rugged and bright option is still necessary.”
