Low level laser therapy (LLLT) is an effective and pain free treatment option for people suffering from acute or chronic musculoskeletal problems such as heel pain caused by plantar fasciitis or heel spurs, chronic Achilles tendinopathy, shin splints and bunion pain. It works by altering the cell chemistry of the muscle, ligament, cartilage or nerve cells to reduce pain, inflammation and swelling and promote healing of the tissue. This is a fantastic alternative if you have not responded to more traditional therapies such as stretching and custom foot orthotics. As it helps to improve healing times in the tissues it is also beneficial if you're an athlete who is wanting to return back to play at a faster rate.
