When should my pup have a vaccination? Often your puppy will have received one vaccination prior to coming to you. This first vaccination is generally done at 6 to 8 weeks of age and is a temporary vaccination only. We recommend a second vaccination at 12 weeks of age and a third one at 16 weeks to give your pup full immunity against the contagious viral diseases they can be exposed to. It is important to keep your puppy confined at home after their second vaccination and to remember that they will not be fully covered until after their last vaccination. Some diseases, especially Parvovirus can persist in the environment for a long time and your pup may become infected without directly contacting another dog.
