Melville Amateur Angling Club Needs YOU.
Are you interested in beach and rock fishing or happy to wet a line in the river chasing that elusive black bream? If you do, Melville is the Club for YOU.
Melville Amateur Angling Club was formed in 1973 with the object being to foster and promote the sport of angling.
Melville is a family orientated Club offering something to all members of the family who wish to participate including people who come along on their own.
Age and gender is no barrier and membership is obtained by payment of an annual fee. The first three months of you attending the Club are free.
Numerous social activities are held during the year including BBQ’s; a family Xmas tree party that includes Father Christmas for the children.
The fishing year runs from June to May culminating with the Annual dinner and presentation of trophies evening, which is a major social event where you can invite all of your friends along to see you receive your trophy(s).
The beach and rock fishing is usually held on the 1st weekend of the month.
Venues for the competition vary each month and may range from Albany in the south up to Kalbarri in the north. Ownership of a 4wd vehicle helps when going to some of the remote locations we fish at but it is not always necessary.
Estuary fishing is held on the 3rd weekend of the month usually in the Swan and
Canning rivers and we do go to Walpole every now and again on a free long
Melville runs an annual estuary competition called SWANFISH which is sponsored by numerous businesses open to the general public.
The Club meets monthly at the Troy Park Association Clubrooms, Burke Drive,
Attadale for a 7.30pm start.
For further information about the Club and when our meetings are please contact one of our Life members Don Cox on 93379866.
