Ultrasonic thickness testing is used to be able to determine an accurate wall thickness of metals and other materials. It works by sending a sound wave through the material and measuring how long it takes to return to the emitting probe. This is an essential tool in determining plant equipment integrity as it ensures that you are able to make an accurate assessment of wall loss and then if required to be able to calculate a remaining life assessment, to ensure an unplanned failure does not occur. ARI have AINDT certified personnel to perform all your UTT needs.
