Rural Housing Network provides housing support and advocacy to tenants in social housing, including both public and community housing.  Housing Support Services aim to assist people to maintain their tenancies and reduce re-entry into the homelessness system.
Housing Support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Tenants
This program provides assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are current tenants of the Office of Housing (OoH0 or Aboriginal Housing Victoria (AHV) and who have been identified as being at high risk of losing their tenancy.
The program aims to sustain existing tenancies.
The program provides free and independent support which is delivered in a confidential, culturally appropriate, and non-judgemental manner.
The Housing Support Worker will support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander tenants by:
Developing case plans to sustain existing housing
Providing advocacy to address immediate housing needs
Referral to specialist support that can provide additional assistance
Giving people a voice in adressing their housing difficulties
Providing advocacy at Victorian Civil & Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) hearings.
