Aussie Manufacturers take a tough stance - TARIFF CONCESSION REVOCATION

Tariffs exist to help local manufacturers and protect local jobs. If there are local manufacturers, then they can and should apply for the Tariff Concession(s) to be withdrawn.

Hence, if you are a local manufacturer and believe your goods can be substituted for imports covered by a Tariff Concessions Order you may request that the TCO be revoked.

REVOKING A TCO
As this can be a difficult and resource consuming process, we complete and submit the Request for Revocation of a TCO on your behalf and steer the application through Australian Customs and address any objections until finalisation.

When Customs receive a revocation request, they will then gazette the notification. Within 60 days of the receipt of the request based on the information provided in the request and enquiries made by Customs and Border Protection they will issue a decision.

When the TCO is revoked, it takes effect from the date that the request for revocation was received by Customs and Border Protection. You can download the application form ‘Request for Revocation of a TCO’ (form B441), from the Australian Customs and Border Protection website.
