ESVB Hose Protection System:
When is an excavator a crane? Call us to find out
The ESVB hose break protection system is a unique protection system based on a set of electrically controlled open / close non-return valves. These systems comply with Australian Standard AS 1418.5 and ISO 8643.
Due to a constant censoring of the condition of the loaded hoses, an electronic device allows oil to flow in and out of the cylinder, as long as these hydraulic lines are in a good condition. As soon as there is a hose break situation, the electrically controlled non-return valve closes immediately, spilling a minimum amount of lubricant, and locking the unsafe moving arm.
The ESVB hose break system covers a range of machines with a maximum oil flow of 40-1,000 litres / minute. Special systems up to 3,000 litres / minute are available.
These devices can be fitted to excavators and wheel loaders, which are used for lifting and / or elevated platform use.
Hose Burst Protection – Tiger Systems
Features of the Tiger Electronic System
Each Control Valve is fitted with a modular Universal Control Unit containing logic control elements common to all Hose Control Valve sizes.
This Universal Control Unit is designed to fit on all sizes of Tiger’s new Electronic Hose Control Valves – 1/2", 3/4", 1”, 1-1/4” & 1-1/2” and can be quickly removed as a single unit for end-user servicing. All logic elements used in the design are replaceable and readily available as spare parts.
The bolt-on modular Universal Control Unit contains the following control elements:
Cylinder Protection Valve – factory preset to 385 – 395 bar with tamper resistant locking clip (or as specified by customer – i.e. 35 – 45 bar above working pressure)
Manual Override Valve – used to release oil and pressure from the Control Unit, Hose Control Valve and Hose Cylinder in the event of hose failure
Electronic Pressure Transducer – detects system pressure on Inlet side
Solenoid Actuation Valve – Electronically Operated 2 Way Normally Closed Poppet type Cartridge Valve – Rated to 5000 psi (350 bar) (Available in either 12V DC or 24V DC)
Rated working pressures: up to 5000 psi (350 bar) dependant on the Valve Size and SAE Flange Code selected.
Versatile Installation – the centre section on the Control Valve Body can be rotated in 90 degree increments in relation to the End Caps to position the Universal Control Unit to suit individual installation requirements.
Each End Cap may also be independently rotated 90 degrees to position the SAE Flanges in either a Horizontal or Vertical position.
Tiger valves offer an option that allows for an electrically operated emergency lowering if so desired.
On / off switches can be fitted to engage and disengage Ride Control Functions.
Some smaller compact units are available for tight applications.
