Hexoloy® SA is WRT's premium wear resistant ceramic material. Hexoloy® SA is produced by pressureless sintering submicron silicon carbide powder. The sintering process results in a self-bonded, fine-grain (less than 10 µm) SiC product which is extremely hard, lightweight, and low-porosity. The material can be formed into complex shapes with greater than 98% theoretical density. Its very low porosity and chemical inertness enable it to function in environments of hot gases and liquids, oxidizing and corrosive atmospheres, as well as strong acids and alkalis even at extremely high temperatures. Hexoloy® SA can be produced in various complex shapes or tiles, which can be ground and finished to close tolerances. Hexoloy® SA SiC's excellent erosion and wear resistant properties make it ideally suited for the most demanding wear problems encountered in heavy material handling industries.
