Combat® Boron Nitride Coatings are entirely inorganic, composed of boron nitride powder and a high temperature bond phase. Supplied in a liquid form suitable for brushing, Combat Boron Nitride Coatings can be diluted with water to spraying and dipping consistencies and applied to a variety of porous and non-porous materials including graphite, metals, ceramics and organics.
Combat Boron Nitride Coatings can be used up to 1372°C (2500°F) in a reducing/inert atmosphere and 850°C (1562°F) in an oxidizing atmosphere, and will retain many of the properties of Boron Nitride such as:
- Non-wet by most molten metals, salts, fluxes and slags
- Resistant to molten metal corrosion and light metal drosses
- Excellent parting plane / very lubricious
- Helps in removal of solidified metals
