VET in Schools
Inner Melbourne VET Cluster
Vocational Training, Accredited
The Inner Melbourne VET Cluster (IMVC) was established in 1998 as a response to local needs, and has since generated a high level of cooperation and trust leading to collegial working relationships between schools. The local geography, transport networks and interaction between the school groups has enabled the IMVC to foster a culture of mutual interest, trust and quality delivery amongst the schools.
Curriculum and common timetable arrangements have been developed to facilitate student access to programs and schools share resources and students to generate viable classes. This consolidating of classes and sharing of resources is referred to as the Cluster’s ‘Host School Model’ and facilitates Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) delivery.
The Cluster aims to ensure that students are given the opportunity to maximise future employment/career pathways, by providing them with access to a range of vocational education programs.
