That's why Weleda engaged Powerfront to develop its twin Australian and New Zealand Websites. Weleda's genesis dates back to the early 1920s when Austrian philosopher and scientist Dr Rudolf Steiner and his team developed a holistic approach to healthcare and wellness, using only natural ingredients. Their work was based on the philosophy that the human body has a remarkable ability to heal itself but sometimes needs a helping hand from nature. Today Weleda has evolved into a worldwide organic skin care brand, represented in more than 50 countries, each has their own local website. In 2011, Weleda decided it was the time to refresh the Australian and New Zealand websites and they trusted Powerfront to make it happen. The real challenge? Powerfront had to build two separate eCommerce websites for two distinct markets, using the one content management system. Why did Weleda want different websites for two neighbouring countries? They believe there is a tendency for people to buy products locally - even when they are purchasing online. Having a localised website also allows Weleda to increase their revenue by selling country-specific products. Powerfront blitzed the brief and Weleda was very pleased with the end result. The two websites are bold and engaging and exactly match the vision Weleda had for the brand. Many sophisticated features were incorporated to increase the site's usability. On the consumer end, a mega menu takes charge of site navigation. Visitors can quickly and easily jump to a specific category in fewer clicks, while the product filter helps narrow down the vast product choices.
