Chemmart came to Powerfront with a problem - how to communicate effectively with their 2,300+ partners, ranging from franchise owners to regional managers, assistants and head office staff. Our brief was to use the Powerfront CMS platform to streamline an Australia-wide organisation into a more agile entity. By building on technology Powerfront had created for our own intranet we were able to roll out one of our most advanced solutions yet. Some of the technological features we built include:
- An intuitive flagging system to alert users to new items in their intranet
- A task system, which allows users to designate tasks to others and follow their progress
- Ability for users to order product, using an automatically generated integrated feed
We provided a solution, which not only fulfilled Chemmart's functional requirements, but just as importantly the end result is something that the Chemmart stakeholders want to use. We recognise that the biggest obstacles large organisations face in order to successfully utilise an extranet is both functionality and ease of use. Incorporating Flash design, we were able to build a platform which not only followed brand guidelines, but functioned in a simple and attractive manner, meaning Chemmart staff were happy to use the extranet rather than be required to use it.
We also built a dedicated training site to service over 200 stores, allowing Chemmart to communicate new product information quickly and effectively to the Chemmart family around Australia. Powerfront continues to work closely with Chemmart to update and improve their extranet as their needs change.
