Cape Jaffa La Lune Shiraz 2009
Red Wine, Shiraz, Wine Online
After tasting this beautifully packaged Cape Jaffa Shiraz we purchased the remaining stock. Unfortunately there is no more left on the market, so enjoy what we have available. The La Lune Shiraz is full bodied but elegant wine with rich sweet fruit and silky tannins. Finishes super smooth with great length of flavour.
James Halliday: Deep colour, vivid purple hue; loaded with essency ripe black fruits, sea salt, nutmeg and clove; the palate is full-bodied, firm and spicy, with lingering ample black fruits providing flesh to the structure.
RangeThe fruit for our La Lune range is sourced exclusively from our 25-hectare, certified biodynamic vineyard at Mount Benson. The La Lune range showcases wines which express true regionality and varietal distinctiveness with each vintage. Our La Lune wines are certified by Australian Certified Organic (ACO) and display ACO’s biodynamic bug logo on its state-of-the-art, Australian-first unbleached 100% cotton twill weave label.
Vintage The 2009 vintage afforded Mount Benson fruit a long and slow growing season ideal for capturing the unique varietal characters. Even ripening and dry conditions meant that grapes arrived in exceptional condition and quality was very good.
Winemaking The wine was fermented in open top concrete tanks with minimal winemaking intervention and hand plunged twice daily, before extended maceration on skins for two weeks. It was matured in new French oak barriques for 24 months. Production is limited to around 250 cases or ten barriques.
