Japanese Tea Room

We designed and managed the fitout of a Japanese Tea room linking the formal(business) part of the house and the open plan family area. This room is used by both family members and our clients. We sometimes have the initial client meetings in this room where the informal exchange of ideas takes place over cups of tea. Futons are laid out on the tatami lined floor to make a comfortable guest room when visitors stay over during the Christmas holidays. For the rest of the year it is an informal work space for mum on the lap top. The space under the tatami is not wasted- the entire area is accessible and used as long term storage.
