With the screen size of
televisions ever increasing and the encasing becoming thinner, it makes sense
to forego the traditional TV stand / cabinet and wall mount it instead,
allowing you to save precious floor space. Our technicians can wall mount most
sized flat screen televisions (LED / LCD and Plasma) as well as smaller older
style televisions (CRT).
If you don’t already have a TV
bracket, we can supply one for you. We stock a wide range of brackets to suit large
and small televisions. Our brackets also have various positioning features to
choose from such as tilting and pivoting.
If you don’t have an antenna outlet on the wall where you
won’t the television to be mounted, we can install one. If there is an outlet,
but it’s located near the skirting board, we can move the outlet up the wall
and position it behind the TV.
To avoid the untidy look of
cables hanging down from your television, we can conceal the cables in the wall
cavity*, allowing you to connect your television to your AV equipment (DVD
Player, Gaming Console, Foxtel (IQ), T-Box, AV receiver and Surround Sound). If
required, we can supply the longer cables needed to run inside the wall. We
stock HDMI, Optical, Component and Composite cables.
If you’re likely to move your AV
equipment away from the wall on a regular basis (say for cleaning), your sure
to notice the difficulty in dealing with the cables connecting your equipment
to the television. You could disconnect the cables from the back of the equipment
but then later face the task of reconnecting the cables, often in a tight dark
space within the AV cabinet. Or you could choose to move the AV cabinet as far
away from the wall as the cables allow but you run the risk of stretching them
and thus damaging the cables. Neither of these options are appealing and could
potentially cost you time and / or money. Our solution is to install a wall
plate near the AV equipment to which the cables in the wall cavity will be
terminated. Shorter cables can be provided to connect the equipment to the wall
plate. When moving the AV cabinet away from the wall, it’s as simple as
unplugging the cables from the wall plate and then plugging them back in. The
inserts and leads are colour coded to avoid confusion when reconnecting them at
a later date. Based on what cables you have running between the television and
AV equipment, we customise the wall plates to suit.
* The concealing of cables in the
wall is only possible where a cavity exists and is restricted by the
positioning of noggins and any other obstructions.
