Australia has mandatory requirements for the evaluation, registration and labelling of appliances and equipment for their energy efficiency. Our governments have implemented regulations to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse emissions from household appliances and equipment, and commercial and industrial equipment.
The Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) Regulations are mandated by state governments with the technical requirements set out in relevant applicable standards.
It is mandatory for the following products manufactured in or imported into Australia to meet the MEPS levels specified in the relevant Australian Standards:
External Power Supplies Set top boxes Televisions Compact fluorescent lamps
Incandescent lamps Linear florescent lamps Commercial Refrigeration
Three phase electric motors Mains pressure electric storage water heaters
Distribution transformers Transformers for ELV lamps
Ballasts for linear fluorescent lamps Commercial building chillers
Three phase air conditioners Closed control air conditioners
Single phase air conditioners Refrigerators and freezers
We help you
to meet your MEPS requirements through evaluation your products against the
regulations and applicable standards. We
prepare all the necessary compliance documentation, advise on any necessary
labelling, apply for use of the applicable marking, register on the energy
rating database and hold the compliance folder for audit purposes
