To deal with the problem of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), the Australian Federal Government introduced the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) framework to protect Australia’s radiofrequency spectrum by introducing technical limits for radio frequency emissions from electrical/electronic products under the Radiocommunications Act. Suppliers (manufacturers and importers) of these products must demonstrate compliance with the standards as set out in the applicable notice of the Australian Communication and Media Authority, prepare a compliance folder, sign a Declaration of Conformity and apply the C Tick mark to their products. The C Tick will be phased out from March 2013. The applicable standards may be AS/NZS, EN, IEC or CISPR standards. EMCSI can review the EMC reports you may have (such as CE reports), undertake any additional assessment including testing and prepare the compliance folder and Declaration of Conformity. The applicability of the C Tick mark was expanded to include certain classes of radio transmitters. In these cases the applicable AS/NZS standards address the allowed limits of transmitters including frequency of operation, power and human exposure to EM fields. EMCSI undertakes Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) assessments, covering Australian, New Zealand (RCM/C Tick), EU (CE Mark) and US (FCC) requirements. Our EMC assessments and testing covers machinery, laboratory equipment, LIPDs (Low Interference Potential Devices: a class of radio transmitters) and a broad range of electronic and electrical products. We also prepare all the necessary compliance documentation and if requested we can hold and maintain the compliance folder. The number under the C Tick or RCM uniquely identifies the registered supplier. The marks on this website are shown without the supplier code. For detailed information on the present and future use of the Regulatory Compliance Mark go to our website.
