Prenatal sessions focus on recruitment and control of pelvic floor muscles and the transverse abdominus muscle that helps to compress the stomach and stabilise the lower back. Rather than trying to greatly increase your fitness, our prenatal sessions which are conducted within a normal 1:3 Clinical Pilates Small Group or 1:1 Clinical Pilates session, is used to help the mum-to-be maintain her fitness, improve posture and is modified constantly to allow for body and hormonal changes. The focus on control of pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscles can also aid in post labour recovery and the management of diastasis recti and prevent incontinence.
