Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Moxibustion
Moxibustion involves applying heat to acupoints through burning of a moxa cone made from a special herbal medicinal plant called mugwort. The burning of moxa introduces penetrating and relaxing heat into the meridians. The effect of warming the interior not only stimulates free flow of Qi but also increases blood supply to the area being treated. From a systemic sense, moxibustion expels cold and damp, unblocks stagnation and promotes general health.
