They support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children’s wellbeing, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously. Under the Education and Care Services National Law (2011) the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) publishes lists of approved early childhood education and care qualifications and information regarding regulatory requirements here: www.acecqa.gov.au Job Roles: The role of educators in this sector involves working with either children in early childhood in a range of education and care settings, or with school aged children in outside school hours care and vacation programs. Educators may work under supervision or autonomously, or may have the responsibility of supervising volunteers and other staff. Job roles vary from support, supporting the implementation of an approved learning framework and the wellbeing, learning and development of children, to one of implementing and managing programs, designing and implementing curriculum and running the day-to-day functions of the education and care service. Pathways: Training Pathways from the qualification: CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care Entry Requirements: There are no required entry requirements. However, it is recommended participants have adequate LLN skills and are 18 years and over. It is recommended that participants complete an LLN test. Additional Requirement: Participants must undertake National Police and Working with Children checks before commencing work placement. Assessment methods include written test, observation, case study, project and practicum book. There is a component of work placement where students will be assessed by the College’s assessors. Future Career College will assist students to find work placement, however students are encouraged to find work placement by themselves.
