Ross Kimpton Marine Surveying
Marine Surveying and Inspection Service. A marine survey is a detailed inspection of a boat, completed by a qualified and honest surveyor, for the purpose of determining its current condition and seaworthiness. In particular, to determine if the vessel is safe to use in conditions for which it was designed, and what maintenance and repairs are required, or are likely to be required in the near future.
Having a Marine Surveyor look over the prospective vessel you are considering for purchase is just good common sense. With the price and complexity of recreational vessels increasing every year it is more important now than ever to hire a good Marine Surveyor.
Pre Purchase Survey: a survey of the vessel where a full written report including moisture meter readings is supplied. This type of survey can inform you of problems in the vessel's systems and structures that may require extensive and expensive repairs. The Pre-Purchase Marine Survey will help you decide if the vessel is right for you.
Both old and new vessels are the subjects of a marine survey. Older vessels may have extensive modifications and systems that have not been maintained or are in need of being renewed. New vessel marine surveys can uncover warranty problems that need to be addressed before the warranty runs out.
This survey takes place on the hardstand and if required on the water also. We also offer an
Insurance survey that includes of a full written report suitable for insurance purchase or renewal. This survey is often requested by Insurance and Finance companies to determine the condition and value of your vessel or yacht. This type of survey will help your insurance or finance company determine if the vessel is an acceptable risk.
If your vessel is damaged then we offer a survey with a full written report outlining the condition and suggested repair.
If you just want to know if your boat or one you are to buy is seaworthy or has faults then we offer an Inspection Service consisting of an inspection of your vessel where a walk around and a verbal appraisal is given.
