Isicholo is the Zulu word for married woman's headdress and is traditionally worn by South Africa's Zulu women to indicate their married status.
A tightly woven grass basket forms the shape of the hat. Cotton cloth is stretched over the basket and finished with wool stitching in a circular pattern.
These hats are an unique and versatile art piece Try stacking three hats of different colours or display a single hat on a shelf or wall. Or for a large wall space hang nine hats in the same colour in rows of three.
