Utilising both the wet magnetic particle and liquid penetrate non destructive testing methods, we are able test your components for surface and slightly subsurface discontinuities (cracks) to determine if they need replacing or repairing before being installed in the vehicle. This increases reliability of your race vehicle and greatly reduces the risk of components failing during operation. Our horizontal wet magnetic particle testing machine is capable of accepting components of many different shapes and sizes up to 2.4m in length. Common items include connecting rods, crank shafts, gears, shafts and axles etc. Any component which is constructed from a ferromagnetic material can be tested using this method. Materials include iron, nickel, cobalt, and some of their alloys.
For components that are constructed from non-ferrous materials we use the liquid penetrate method. A wide variety of non-porous materials can be tested using this method including aluminium, magnesium, plastics and ceramics.
