There are many benefits of water aerobics during and after pregnancy. Exercising in water is comfortable as buoyancy enables a low impact, non-jarring workout. You can exercise comfortably during your entire pregnancy and right up to your due date. Increased fitness, flexibility, muscle tone and endurance allow you to cope better with the demands of pregnancy, labour and motherhood and give you a renewed energy level as it releases your stress and tension. Water’s own resistance and the use of aqua equipment strengthen and tones muscles, floattion enhances relaxation and the hydrostatic pressure of water supports your pelvis, helps your circulation, varicose veins and swelling. It is a safe and effective way to exercise if you have back pain or pelvic joint problems. We emphasise the important exercises for your deep abdominals and pelvic floor muscles.
