Inner Strength Physiotherapy
Baby massage has been practiced for centuries in other cultures, with touch being the medium through which parent and baby initially communicate. The benefits of baby massage are numerous and include: improved sleep patterns and decreased fussiness; relief from the discomfort associated with constipation, wind and colic; the strengthening of the bonding process between you and your baby; fostering a trusting and respectful relationship; increased parental confidence and self esteem, helping to reduce feelings of anxiety; allows fathers to develop a deeper bond with their child through special one on one time; improved weight gain and earlier discharge in premature babies. Baby massage is particularly helpful if the bonding process has been delayed by: post natal depression, premature birth, caesarean, adoption or medical problems.
