Aqua Aerobics for those in Pain

During pregnancy, your hormone levels change dramatically to cause changes in your body. A hormone called relaxin causes a softening of the ligaments of the pelvic joints. In some women the softening of the pelvic ligaments can cause discomfort or pain. This is known as Pelvic Joint Dysfunction (PJD). Exercising in water is comfortable as buoyancy enables low or zero impact exercise. The hydrostatic pressure of water supports your pelvis. This can be ongoing treatment or a single session prior to joining the water aerobic classes. We include core stability, strengthening exercises and pelvic floor exercises.
