Hosiery approached Kontrols & Industrial Weighing with a
challenging project. They were having problems producing consistent colour
results. Furthermore, when a batch was completed, no documentation was provided
to state the amounts that were filled, making quality assurance impossible. Kontrols
& Industrial Weighing came up with a solution using a PR1713 controller
and a multi-component batching software to accurately produce consistent
colouring and provide documentation of each batch.
The original system used manual balls for batching their dyes and a simple
scale. The results were inconsistent, hence Kontrols & Industrial
Weighing was called to improve the accuracy and provide documentation of
Kontrols & Industrial Weighing provided Kayser Hoisery with a
semi-automatic system to improve the batching accuracy. Printouts were made as
each batch was completed. This allowed for each batch to be checked before it
was added to the product. The printed documentation was customised to meet the
requirements of Kayser.
The basic operation of the system is as follows:
1. Put the bucket on the scale
2. Press the button for product to fill
3. Enter set point on PR1713 keypad and press enter
4. Remove the bucket when filling is complete
The technologies used for this system were; PR1713 system controller, I/O card
to operate the solenoid valves and the PR1713 in-built serial card port made
communication with the printer possible.
The flexibility of the PR1713 system controller is ideal for almost every
weighing system including:
check-weighing, batch control, flow control, filling systems, blending systems
and truck weighing.
