The CUV60211 Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts is aimed at students who have completed a Diploma of Visual Arts and wish to extend their art practice, as well as develop professional skills, strategies and contacts for establishing and sustaining a visual arts career. Over 12 months, students will attend and engage in a weekly studio tutorial, advanced drawing and professional practice classes, a visiting artists program, visit studios and galleries, and work on their studio work culminating in an exhibition of their work at the end of their program. Students will receive a permanent studio space in which to work. Participation in the course is a minimum of three days per week. Subject contact is Wednesdays and Fridays and Independent Studio is on a Thursday or on another day by arrangement.

Spend two weeks at the 55th Venice Biennale, the major international contemporary art show held once every two years in Venice, Italy. Visit museums and galleries, produce an art journal, attend classes, work on practical projects, explore Venice and outlying islands then return to Melbourne and participate in an exhibition at Latrobe College Gallery. The trip is accredited as a drawing subject in the Diploma of Visual Art.
