Have you heard us lately
OCR FM, Community Radio
Its taken us 21 years to get to this stage, OCR FM began on borrowed or seconhand equipment 21 years ago. It has taken a lot of volunteer hours fundraising and several grant applications to get to this stage.
Committee of Management are extremely pleased to at last finally installed brand new OCR FM owned equipment. A new Studio Link Transmitter, Receiver and Exciter have been inistalled. Along with the many man hours to fine tune the equipment OCR FM now broadcast a clear signal and its in stereo, this is the first time in 21 years that can be said. "You really have to hear it to believe the difference" said our Secretary. She then went on to say ' you kind of take commercial radio for granted, but having been heavily involved with the continuous break downs OCR FM was suffering, writing the many grant applications, waiting expectantly for a positive outcome, then being so very dissappointed when they were not successful. Then going through the entire process again, and the elation of winning a grant, to the nervous heavy responsibility of carrying out the grant ordering equipment finding reliable technicians to see the work adequately completed. It has been a huge job, a real learning curve but the results have been fantastic. These grants and the equipment will see OCR FM on air for quite some time to come"
The committee and all members are very pleased with the results, tune in and listen sometime, you might just be surprised by what you hear on OCR FM Community Radio 98.3 in and around Colac and District, 88.7 at Apollo Bay and along the Coast.
