Kate is an experienced Clinical Psychologist who has worked in mental health for over 10 years.
Kate provides individual therapy to adults and adolescents experiencing a wide range of problems. These may include mental health issues such as mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment, grief, trauma and health issues. She also assists clients experiencing difficulties with transitions, work and life stress, parenting, sleep and relationship issues. Kate has a warm and collaborative style, and ensures that she spends the time needed to understand each person and their circumstances.
Kate has experience in public mental health settings working with adolescents, adults and families. She has a particular interest in working with individuals who are undergoing, or recovering from cancer treatment, recognising that the emotional recovery from such a significant experience brings its own unique challenges. Kate also enjoys working with adolescents and young adults, providing support to manage this often challenging time of life, and to develop positive mental health and wellbeing for the future.
Kate emphasises a client-centred approach, incorporating Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness and other evidence-based approaches. She works closely with each of her clients to gain a strong understanding of their presenting problems, and collaboratively develop the best approach to meeting their goals.
