A Public Weighbridge with quad weighing decks is in operation at the Rampage National BP Truck Stop at Rockbank in Melbourne’s western suburbs. Supplied by Ultrahawke, the Public Weighbridge is interlinked with the shop’s PC network to allow retail shop staff to produce weighbridge tickers using any of the shop’s cash registers.
As well as displaying and printing weighbridge tickets showing the Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM), Ultrahawke’s quad deck Public Weighbridge also monitors axle group weights to eliminate instances of accidental axle overloading. To acquire these axle weights, four separate digital weight indicators (one for each weighing deck) are linked to a summing Indicator.
Rampage National’s BP Truck Stop at Rockbank was only the second Public Weighbridge in Victoria that was trade approved for remote weighing operation. To accomplish this, a series of boom gates, positional sensors and traffic light guidance ensures the trucks are correctly positioned on the Public Weighbridge before the driver enters the shop for weighing.
CCTV cameras are linked to the Public Weighbridge server and a snapshot of the vehicle being weighed is also produced and digitally stored for later reference if required.
Ultrahawke custom engineered this entire system to suit the client’s need for a trade approved Public Weighbridge that blends seamlessly into a normal truck stop operation. Ultrahawke is Australia’s largest and oldest manufacturer of weighbridges and recently celebrated 150 years of operation.
