   A study conducted in the USA by a group of scientist has found a link between heavy metal detected in hair and the risk of Heart Attacks. 130 patients were assessed and those that died of Heart Attacks (Myocardial Infarctions) had significantly higher levels of arsenic, cadmium, nickel and lead than those that survived. Heavy metals are being increasingly recognised as indicator to cardiovascular disease. Arsenic is a harmful chemical found in cigarettes and high levels of cadmium are found in cigarette smoke.
