Restorative yoga (Relax & Renew®) classes use bolsters, blocks, blankets and cushions to support the body fully in restful yoga poses to promote healing, improve recovery and reduce stress.
Restorative yoga, which invokes the relaxation response, has been demonstrated by research to:
- Reduce muscular tension and contraction
- Slow the respiratory and circulatory systems
- Slow the rate of brain activity (amongst other effects)
