Following in Neil’s footsteps, this week we welcome Sean Kinder as a Sales Engineer at Kinder & Co, pictured here with Charles Pratt our Operations Manager.

Recently qualified with a double University degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business, Sean is not new to the family business having worked in our warehouse for many years. His first task is to coordinate the shipping and logistics of orders which will give him valuable operational insight as well as a detailed understanding of customer despatch priorities.

Previously Sean worked with the Victorian office of the Construction Material Processors Association (CMPA) as a document officer. The CMPA represents a broad spectrum of those involved in construction material processing businesses engaged in the extracting, processing or otherwise working in hard rock, gravel, sand, cement, clay, lime, soil, gypsum or recycling. Here Sean was responsible for the production of the CMPA’s technical manuals and he also authored many technical articles for Sand and Stone magazine.

As a member of our Sales & Engineering team, Sean will be spending most of his time out on site sharing his knowledge of belt conveyor and roller systems with customers.

“I’m really excited about starting at Kinder. I’ve seen Neil and Christine grow the business over the last 3 decades into such a reputable and reliable business, and we now have such a fantastic and supportive Australia-wide customer base. I’m really looking forward to contributing to the business in a practical hands-on way that will combine my knowledge gained at Uni and the CMPA, not to mention going to industry events and tradeshows with Neil when I was growing up,” said Sean.

Technical Checklist – 10 Ways to Maintain your Conveyor Belt

A good conveyor preventive maintenance plan doesn’t need to be expensive or time consuming. A daily floor walk is one of the best techniques for checking a system’s health. Small, easily observed clues such as oil drippings, belt shavings, or unusual noise can indicate a worn or failing part. To ensure you’re not overlooking these signs, keep your operation clean. Alternate conveyor maintenance technicians on a quarterly rotation to ensure fresh eyes.
