K-Polyurethane Screen Panels
Kinder Australia Pty Ltd
Material Handling Equipment, Conveyors, Conveyor
Our customer's business turns waste products into new sources of revenue. With this environmental focus, their Laverton premises borders a steel refinery, where “Slag” was once thought of as just useless by-product of the steel making process.
However they were experiencing frustrations in their screening operations, with their traditional woven metal wire screens pegging and binding across the cross wires. The end result would be totally blocked screens that would need to be thoroughly washed down, often taking up to 2 hours every day to complete.
Kinder & Co suggested they switch to using K-Polyurethane Screen Panels because the polyurethane has superior low-friction properties compared to metal wire, and makes it much more slippery, vibrating the product particles so that the Slag can be screened much more effectively with no time to set.
After trialling K-Polyurethane Screen Panels, the customer's site team have been so delighted with the improvement in the screening (recording 80% more product throughput being achieved), as well as the reduction in the cleaning process (taking only 10 minutes because the Slag doesn’t adhere to the polyurethane) that they are going to install K-Polyurethane Screen Panels in all of their metal recycling plants in the next few months.
