Coffee farmer Otilio Hernández of the Honduras farm EL CERRON has provided the specialty coffee beans for our latest featured microlot avaible during January 2013, The El farm EL CERRON is located in the Cedritos community, municipality of Santiago de Puringla in the Department of La Paz.It has an altitude of 1550 meters above sea level and is 90kilometers from the city of La Paz, departmental capital. The farm is managed under an agroforestry system under shade and is focused in the environmental conservation of soil and water resources. It also has a protected forest area of timber and fruit trees. This delightful coffee was entered in the Cup of Excellence competition and was described by judges as follows: AROMA: milk, cinnamon, almonds, butterscotch, vanilla, sugar cane, ginger FLAVOR: milk, cinnamon, passion fruit, black tea, bergamot, dried apricot, blackcurrant, lemongrass, tamarind ACIDITY: citrus, caramelized orange, zesty, moderate OTHER: silky mouthfeel Now roasted to perfection on our 15kg small batch roaster, these beans are ready to delight your palate right here in Melbourne. Roasted to just on second crack the espresso is bright with excellent acidity and a lively citrus tang that finishes smoothly on the palate.
