PINT-sized footy player Albert is ready to be let off the leash on the weekend as part of a doggie footy day.
The pomeranian-cross will be joining other dogs at East Bentleigh Animal Care’s doggie football day where families and their four-legged friends can dress in their team colours and have a play.
The dogs who are up to the task of competing can join in the “footy” game being staged in the fenced off puppy area, while those more suited to a life on the sidelines can watch on, said Albert’s owner Whitney Burns.
Miss Burns, who also organised the day, said her pomeranian didn’t mind wearing the shirt but would probably be more excited about being let loose.

“It’s just supposed to be a fun day where we can get all our clients down so we can meet up with them face-to-face and get to know each other all while having a bit of fun,” she said.
There will also be face painting, a sausage sizzle and a magician.
The centre will also run a cat adoption day.
Doggie Footy Day will run from 10am until 1pm on Saturday, August 15 at East Bentleigh Animal Care, 581 Warrigal Rd, Bentleigh East.
