One of the most valuable tools I discovered when battling chronic pain and illness for decades was meditation. There are many types of meditation and all are equally worthwhile in assisting with pain, illness or general stress. At Sirona Wellness, I teach mainly guided meditation or mindfulness meditation. Both of these types of meditation can have a huge benefit on the effects of chronic pain or illness, and can also assist with calming the mind and relaxing the body to help with the pressures of every day life.
One of the most harmful things we can do to our bodies and minds is to ignore the message of pain or illness, or treat only the symptoms. Through meditation, I can assist in uncovering the source of pain, acknowledging and accepting the pain, and learning techniques to better manage pain throughout the day.
