Murano Glass and Crystal chandeliers have been loved all around the world since the year 1293 when Venetian glass blowing first began on the island of Murano. The King of Italy banned visitors to the island in fear that the secrets and techniques used to make Murano glass would be poached. Murano glass and crystal chandeliers are the very best in the world for both technical brilliances, luxury and stunning beauty. The only person allowed to make Murano chandeliers are Maestri or Master glass blowers with years and years of skill and dexterity. Each and every arm is hand blown, decorations in both Torcello or Glass paste is applied, possibly Swarovksi Crystals and a variety of techniques including the addition of 24 carat gold leaf during the glass blowing process. Every arm of the chandelier and it's measurements are made to perfection and their is absolutey no room for error and this is why only a Master glass blower is allowed to produce Murano Chandeliers. The Ca Rezzonico style of Chandelier dates back to the year 700, concevied and designed by Giuseppi Briati for the noble Venetian family of Rezzonico. The family and it's legacy now lives on in this most famous and difficult of Chandeliers to produce. Please stop by and check out our range of Murano chandeliers which is being added to daily.
