Pilates exercises involve movements of the whole body. Emphasis is on control of movement, maintenance of good posture, flexibility, breathing and developing a strong core.
The exercises have been used successfully as a method of rehabilitation for spinal pain, sciatica, arthritic conditions, postural problems including headache, work injuries, sports injuries and following hip, knee and shoulder surgery.
All clients are first assessed by our trained physiotherapists and have a program designed for their individual needs. Exercises are initially taught one on one to develop a good grasp of the fundamental principles. You can then continue on with your individual program in a class setting. Class numbers are kept small and are fully supervised by a Physiotherapist, to ensure correct technique and regular progression
